Terms of service

These terms apply to repairs and access work carried out by LockMend, a trading name of VS LOCKSMITH LTD (company number 11514642). They do not affect your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.

Prices

  • We agree a fixed price with you before any work starts, by phone, WhatsApp or on arrival.
  • There is no call-out fee within our service area.
  • If the job turns out to need more work or parts than agreed, we stop, explain why and agree the new price with you before carrying on. Nothing is added without your agreement.

No fix, no fee

If we cannot repair the fault, you do not pay for labour. If a part has to be ordered because it is not carried on the van, we explain the options and any cost before ordering it.

Hours

We work Every day 06:00–21:30. We do not take jobs after 21:30. Messages sent outside these hours are answered from 06:00.

Access to property

For lockouts and emergency entry we ask for proof that you live at, or have the right to enter, the property before or straight after entry. If we have any doubt, we will not proceed.

Payment

Payment is due on completion by cash, card or bank transfer.

Warranty

12-month parts-and-labour warranty. Covers LockMend's work and the parts LockMend supplies. If a part we supply fails because of a defect, or a fault is caused by our work within 12 months, we put it right at no charge. The warranty does not cover damage caused afterwards, misuse, forced entry or parts supplied by someone else.

Cancelling

You can cancel a booked visit at any time before we set off without charge — just call or message us. If you booked the work at home, you also have the cancellation rights set out in the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013; if you ask us to start within the 14-day cancellation period, you may have to pay for work already done.

Our responsibility

We carry out work with reasonable care and skill. We are responsible for loss or damage that is a foreseeable result of our breach of these terms or our negligence. We do not exclude liability where it would be unlawful to do so.
