Privacy policy
Last updated: 21 October 2026
This policy explains what personal data LockMend collects when you contact us or use this website, why we use it and what rights you have. LockMend is a trading name of VS LOCKSMITH LTD, the data controller.
Who we are
- VS LOCKSMITH LTD trading as LockMend, registered in England and Wales, company number 11514642.
- Registered office: 7 Augusta Way East, Andover, England, SP11 6GA.
- Email: [email protected] · Phone: 07748 926551
What we collect
- Enquiry form: your name (optional), phone number, email (optional), town or postcode, the problem you describe, any photo you attach, and the page you sent the form from.
- Calls and WhatsApp: your phone number, messages and any photos you choose to send.
- Jobs: the address where the work is done, the work carried out, the price and payment details needed for your invoice. For lockouts we may ask to see proof that you live at or have the right to enter the property; we look at it and do not keep a copy.
- Website use: pages visited, device and browser type, approximate location and which buttons or links were clicked, collected through Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager.
Why we use it
- To reply to your enquiry, give you a price and arrange the repair — needed to take steps at your request before a contract and to carry it out.
- To keep invoices and job records — required by tax law.
- To understand how the website is used and which adverts bring enquiries, so we can improve it — our legitimate interest in running the business.
We do not sell your data and we do not use it for marketing messages.
Who we share it with
Only with the services we need to run the website and the business: Cloudflare (website hosting and spam protection), Resend (delivers form enquiries to our inbox), Google (Analytics, Tag Manager and Ads measurement), WhatsApp (if you message us) and our accountant. Some of these providers may process data outside the UK under recognised safeguards.
How long we keep it
- Enquiries that do not turn into a job: up to 12 months.
- Job records and invoices: 6 years, as required for tax.
- Google Analytics data: 14 months.
Cookies
The website uses Google Analytics cookies (named _ga and _ga_*) to count visits and measure which pages and buttons lead to enquiries. If you arrive from a Google advert, Google may also record that the visit came from an ad. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings at any time; the website will still work.
Your rights
You can ask for a copy of your data, ask us to correct or delete it, object to how we use it or ask us to restrict its use. Email [email protected] and we will reply within one month. If you are unhappy with how we handle your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
