Our approach — always first Non-Destructive Entry (NDE)
1 Lock picking
Using tension wrenches and pick tools to manipulate the pin tumblers and open the cylinder without a key. Fast and leaves no trace.
2 Latch bypass (mica card)
If the door is only pulled shut (not double-locked), a flexible bypass card retracts the latch in seconds. Zero damage.
3 Letterbox and under-door tools
Specialist tools to reach handles or thumb-turns from outside the door — used on composite and timber doors where picking is harder.
4 Gearbox spreading (jammed mechanisms)
Specialist spreader tools to create a controlled gap in the door frame, allowing the jammed hooks to retract. Saves the door from damage.
Last resort only When drilling is unavoidable
1 Anti-pick / anti-drill cylinders
High-security cylinders with hardened steel pins cannot be picked. Drilling is the only option — but we only drill the replaceable cylinder insert, not the door body.
2 Seized or corroded locks
Locks that have seized solid due to age, corrosion, or attempted break-in damage may be beyond picking. The cylinder is drilled and replaced immediately from van stock.
3 We protect the door, not just the lock
Even when drilling, we use a tungsten carbide bit and drill only the minimum required to release the cylinder. The door frame stays intact. We fit a new cylinder from the van before we leave — your home is secured.
⚠️ A note on DIY: Smashing a window to get in might seem like the quick fix — but replacing a double-glazed unit typically costs £150–£250, and you'll be left with a cold, unsecured property until it's done. Calling a locksmith is almost always faster and cheaper.
